After touring in support of their previous album&nbsp;<em>Ignition<\/em>&nbsp;(1992), the band recorded their next album over two months at&nbsp;Track Record&nbsp;in&nbsp;North Hollywood, California.&nbsp;<em>Smash<\/em>&nbsp;was the band&rsquo;s final studio album to be produced by&nbsp;Thom Wilson, who had worked with them since their&nbsp;1989 eponymous debut. This also marks the first album where&nbsp;Dexter Holland&nbsp;is credited with playing the guitar as opposed to vocals only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Offspring smash\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Oh2vO_FTEJc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Smash<\/em>&nbsp;was the Offspring&rsquo;s introduction into worldwide popularity, and produced a number of hit singles, including \u00ab\u00a0Come Out and Play\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Self Esteem\u00a0\u00bb, and \u00ab\u00a0Gotta Get Away\u00a0\u00bb.
