{"id":464,"date":"2022-05-18T11:21:03","date_gmt":"2022-05-18T09:21:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/manuelfh.be\/concrete-jungle\/?post_type=album&#038;p=464"},"modified":"2022-05-20T16:29:58","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T14:29:58","slug":"catharsis","status":"publish","type":"album","link":"https:\/\/manuelfh.be\/concrete-jungle\/album\/catharsis\/","title":{"rendered":"Catharsis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p> <em><strong>Catharsis<\/strong><\/em> is the ninth studio album by American heavy metal band Machine Head, released on January 26, 2018.[4] The album is the first to be completely co-written by all of the band&rsquo;s members since <em>The More Things Change&#8230;<\/em> (1997), and is the final Machine Head studio album to feature drummer Dave McClain and guitarist Phil Demmel, both of whom left the band less than a year after its release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The song \u00ab\u00a0Beyond the Pale\u00a0\u00bb was met with minor controversy when it was pointed out that the main riff bears similarities to the main riff in Strapping Young Lad&rsquo;s \u00ab\u00a0Love?\u00a0\u00bb. Former Strapping Young Lad frontman Devin Townsend acknowledged the similarities, but stated that \u00ab\u00a0Love?\u00a0\u00bb&lsquo;s chorus was \u00ab\u00a0ripped off\u00a0\u00bb from the song \u00ab\u00a0City of Love\u00a0\u00bb by Yes; Flynn also joked that \u00ab\u00a0The &lsquo;riff police&rsquo; pulled me over\u00a0\u00bb, and that while admitting to the similarities, he claimed it was \u00ab\u00a0just a happy accident\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MACHINE HEAD - Catharsis (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WYeDJxWvA_I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In November 2017, frontman Robb Flynn explained that the album&rsquo;s sound would be less heavy than previous efforts, with emphasis on being \u00ab\u00a0very grooving and very melodic\u00a0\u00bb.
